Auxiliary Products for Concrete
Features
EKAN® SR 50 is a chloride-free additive specifically formulated to reduce plastic shrinkage cracking in plaster and concrete. EKAN® SR 50 offers a significant reduction in shrinkage stresses and cracks. EKAN® SR 50:
- Minimizes plastic shrinkage of fresh concrete – initial and final setting times can be extended by approximately 30-60 minutes.
- Improves water impermeability of structures that must contain or retain water.
- Reduces joint maintenance costs in concrete slabs.
- EKAN® SR 50 increases the durability and service life of concrete.
- Allows for an increase in the distance between joints.
Instructions for use
Areas of use
- Architectural slabs and precast panels with an “exposed aggregate” finish.
- Pavements and structures (ramps, parking lots, bridges) where surface roughness is required.
- Hydraulic structures/channels when additional slip resistance is needed.
- Plasters and mortars for aggregate exposure effects.
Application
Dosage: —
Shake the product well. Apply EKAN® SR 50 in a thin, uniform layer on **freshly finished** (troweled) concrete surface, using low-pressure spray or roller/brush, avoiding pooling. Protect the surface from rain, dust, and excessive sun/wind during the curing period. After the curing time (variable depending on temperature and cement), remove the surface paste by pressure washing or brushing until the desired aggregate exposure is achieved.
